Who are we?
We are No (Noëlle) and Mad (Madelief), two girls from the Netherlands who started a travel blog in English so No’s future international husband can read it. We’ve travelled a lot together and we always come across problems that would have been so much better to have known in advance. For example, that your RV pipes will freeze in winter, you shouldn’t hike a trail without shade in the hottest part of the day and what boat tour to book without having to throw up.​

Looking back at it, this might have been our fault for not doing enough research and not that it wasn’t on the internet, but we decided to start a travel blog anyway. From this part alone, you can see that we are definitely not professionals, so you know that everything we have done is also possible for you. Our guarantee on this blog is that we will always be honest. We will not skip an epic experience to save money, but we will sleep in a room with no windows because it was a few euros less (just kidding, we won’t be doing that again). We’re not fit, but we will wake up at 2AM and hike for six hours (in pain) just because TikTok said there was a nice view of the sunset. We are not afraid to take risks, but also know that days spent in bed are just as necessary while travelling. ​

If you like a bit of chaos, but want to be able to scream “I knew this would happen!” when you encounter the same problems as us (or even better, actually avoid them), you’re in the right place.

I have always loved exploring new places, cultures, experiences. I’ve taken every opportunity that I could to take a gap year and go off exploring. Apart from the good experiences, the problems and the funny stories that come from them are my favourite memories to relive and tell everyone. So why not tell them on a blog? This year I’ll be studying again, doing my Master’s at Utrecht University. While I’m very excited to study again, writing on the blog gives me a way to relive all of my travel adventures!

My love for travel began when I lived in Canada and explored a new city or country every weekend. I made the best memories during my time there and still think about it every day.
Travelling is my favourite hobby and such a true passion that I even have my own travel agency! (it is actually not active right now, and I used it for 9 months, but facts are facts).
As I have a lot of friends and family living abroad, this blog is the perfect way to show them what I’m up to! With my background in design and my master’s in communication, this blog is a good way to mix both skills and showcase what Madelief and I are experiencing abroad.
Besides, I need to be able to show people the adventures I have experienced when I’m old, so this blog is a must for my future life plan.
