Møn
Møn

Møn is one of Denmark's many islands, located in the south-east of the country. It is a popular tourist destination for people that want to see more of Denmark than just Copenhagen. The main attraction are the white cliffs of Møns Klint, but you can definitely take some days to relax here as well and there are many other activities that you can entertain yourself with. We were staying with Teater Møn, close to Busemarke. This was a really nice, big space with a lot of theater requisites, which gave us a lot to explore at the accommodation itself as well. We were there for three days including a lot of chill time, here is everything we did!

Møns Klint
Møns Klint stands for the white chalk cliffs of Møn. This is the main attraction of the island and the only place where we saw a lot of other tourists. Since we had had a quiet time on the island before this, we were quite shocked by how busy it was. The parking spaces were all full, so keep that in mind when planning to go here. If you arrive in the middle of the day (like we did since we didn’t expect so many people), you might have to wait 20 minutes for someone to leave. You can park closely, which costs money, or walk 1,5km to the geocentre, which if free and gives you a nice walk through the woods.
The geocentre itself is possible to visit, but we didn’t do that and just got icecream. We already had four musea on our list this vacation, more was not needed for us. To see the cliffs, you have to descend wooden stairs down to the beach (be prepared if you’re not fit, there’s a lot of steps). Down at the beach a lot of people were chilling, swimming or looking for cool rocks. Most of it is quite rocky though, so not a good place to lay down on your towel. We just walked along the beach towards another set of stairs to lead us up again. Not all the stairs were open when we were there, so make sure to check the signs with the maps before planning your route. There are a lot of different options to walk!

Stege
Stege is the place to be, the main city of the island (it’s also got the most and biggest supermarkets). For some peace and quiet you can explore the rest, if you want to live it up (as far as that’s possible here) you go to Stege. We were here for a day and visited Theater Møn (it was very abstract but fun to experience, we could go for free because we stayed at their house) and Thorsvang, Danmarks Samlermuseum. This museum showcases one man’s insane collection of all kinds of different stuff, divided into different themed “shops”. It’s not really a must see, but can be fun to walk through. Other than that, most of the restaurants and shops are in Stege, along with all kinds of ceramics and workshops.
Elmelunde church
The Elmelunde church is the eldest church on Møn and is known for its frescoes. It was a really nice stop to look at the frescoes, as they are unlike many other I’ve seen! It was fun to try and interpret the stories from the old paintings. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the frescoes, so you will just have to go to see for yourself.
Beach
Sometimes when you're on holiday, your inner Ken comes through and your job is beach. It is an island, so there are a lot of places where you can go to the beach!

As you can see, there is nothing that you absolutely HAVE to do. That is what was nice about the island: you can enjoy the nature, the peace and the quiet, and if you want to see or do something, there are options. Enjoy your time!
